truly handmade in philadelphia

I’m attending the BMAC wholesale show (Buyers Market of American Craft) in Philadelphia. This is my first visit to see American handcrafted jewelry, glass, ceramics, mixed media all in one show — and my first visit to Philly. So far, so good!

I was pleased to meet Maya from Fleurs Jolies. I sell her sweet little hairclips made from vintage plastic flowers that were imported from Japan in the 1950’s. I ordered lots more of her hairclips, plus earrings to match.

I came across Night Fox Jewelry, Wyoming based Kate Finley, and was drawn to her colorful enameled copper disc jewelry. We’ll be loving her line of the earrings I ordered for Heavenly Metal!

Amy Sedaris was also here at the show yesterday, signing copies of her new book Simple Times, Crafts for Poor People. She wasn’t funny or friendly, but she agreed to this photo op with me.

So there it is. Day one of BMAC….and I’m off to find more treasures at the show!
