this week’s handcrafted goodies

it’s been a very fruitful week at heavenly metal with all the lovely new handmade arrivals. we’ve been busy bunnies finding perfect homes and creating little moments for all the precious new goodies. here’s some photo teases for you.

local fiber artist debbie eyde makes the most adorable felted pillows, purses, headbands, pouches, & hairclips. I’m tickled pink to carry her work in my store! just look at these goodies, including deb’s sunflower pin attached to a red chair studio silk scarf (wearing one of the new pure & co handknit tunic vests that just arrived.)

dolan geiman is a chicago-based mixed media artist who creates original paintings, collages constructions crafted from salvaged wood, found objects, and other recycled materials. I love the way he collages folk art with now, hip design — and of course I adore his use of bird images collaged with text. check out the instruments: great gift for the musician in your life.

rand papele: I meet pretty terrific artists at the trade shows I attend. judith rand and eben papele not only make terrific matte and oxidized sterling silver jewelry, they embrace esthetics similar to mine and are a lovely couple. I’m happy to introduce a wee bit of their collection: stud earrings that are guaranteed to make you to want more from their jewelry line.

ozone socks are designed and made in france — and you, my heavenly metal fans, have adored them for quite a few seasons. they’ve just introduced a new line: beautiful socks designed by a japanese fiber artist and made in one of the textile capitols of the world: japan. gorgeous designs in a lightweight cotton that has the look and feel of silk. yum yum.

this handknit pure & co. tunic vest was such a big hit last fall, I brought it back in three lovely colors: lime, taupe, and charcoal. frankly, I haven’t taken mine off, except to sleep and shower. so comfy and warm, but not too warm. kind of perfect. and works perfectly with the mesh 3/4 sleeve t’s from puli and gorgeous t’s from lilibleu that also just arrived.

— PLUS —
new baggallini’s also just arrived from their portland, oregon headquarters! the really big news is the introduction of two new colors: gold and silver — fabulous! and, finally the much sought after sydney bag has finally made it to heavenly metal.

there it is, my friends. that’s just the past two days! stay tuned, as I travel to philadelphia this weekend for the buyers market of american craft wholesale show. I’ll be blogging, tweeting, facebooking, and having a good time, no doubt.
